In 2005 Darrell signed with the Indianapolis Colts as an undrafted rookie free agent, after making a strong impact on coaches during pre-season camps. Over the past four seasons Darrell has made key contributions on the defensive line as well as at fullback in goal line situations. Over this time Darrell has become the heart and soul of the Colts special teams, not only because of his big hits but because of his leadership.

After only starting one game and playing in eight during his rookie season, Reid stepped up in 2006, making 15 appearances during the regular season and playing in all four postseason games.

In 2009 Darrell was acquired by the Denver Broncos on opening day of free agency. Darrell signed a three year contact with the Broncos.

In Darrell’s first four years in the NFL he has totaled 83 tackles, 51 solo and 32 assists on defense and 73 tackles, 61 solo and 12 assists on special teams.  Darrell has also had 2.5 sacks for a loss of 17 yards along with two fumble recoveries.
